Most people? I only know a total of two people that use whatsapp (and both of them I have on bbm so no biggie) and neither reside in the US so "most people" has to be a bit of a stretch.

    Posted via CB10
About 1 billion of the world's 2 billion smartphone users use Whatsapp, so, no, "most people" is not a stretch.

Will you keep using the Classic in 2017 despite the native lack of WhatsApp?
I heard that the use of Whatsapp on BlackBerry through the Google Play store seems to be working fine but you probably won't be able to answer without opening the app. And the whole concept of making communication easier probably won't be the case for Whatsapp which is after all the most important Messaging app.

    Posted via CB10
I couldn't care less about whatsapp, but I live in the USA where pretty much everyone has unlimited texts and voice anyway. I also don't communicate regularly with people outside my country, so that's why I personally don't use whatsapp. Unfortunately a lot of people rely on whatsapp, but I just don't. Don't even have it installed and never had it installed. Even on my Android that I use for work, don't have it installed. Even if I am forced to use an Android as a daily driver, still won't have it installed, lol. :-P

I don't use it at all. I thinks it's stupid to have a thousand chat apps where text works fine. I can't lie about the fact that I would love to have any message sent on my BlackBerry be end to end encrypted without having to pay for it.

Trackpad, real efficient multitasking, run youtube in background, perfect hub, strong security, perfect dimensions, stable OS, great battery life, superb image/color processing (despite the "only 8 MP" camera), amazing keyboard (literally the best keyboard ever made), beautiful call quality, coherent app integration, 10.3.3 coming soon, doc editing. So: efficiency at it's best, speed, privacy, overall versatility. This is a tool. Classic is a communication tool. Spread the word about BBM (now with iOS and android version) and in one or two years whatsapp will fade. People are getting more and more aware about privacy and security issues of all kind. As for me, 2017 is still Classic. I want to try the Dtek60. But giving the fact that I still use my old bold 9900 with another sim, I'll stick on my Classic also in 2018.

BBM is not good for either of those, though.

Lots of people leave companies based on app selection. They also return due to functionality. Nothing to get bent over. Some days I feel like using a Blackberry device. Sometimes an Apple device. Sometimes an android device. I have all 3 and switch when I feel like it. I switch phones often trying to find the one device that could do it all. That used used to be a BB10 device but with current app selection, that's no longer the situation.

I'm same as you. Owned all three platforms. I switch whenever I feel like it.

Reflecting a lot and deciding to have less to non-existent social media presence....the app gap doesn't matter as much. My biggest issue with BB10 at the moment is that the browser really needs updating.

I am sure they are working on it. The 'let's encrypt ' SSL based certificates are all being updated in the 10.3.3 update along with anti-phishing features in the developer 10.3.3 edition.

My 3rd Classic arrived today still sealed in it's box.
    Z10 from 11.Mar.2013
    1st Classic from 11.Dec.2014 came with OS-10.3.1.1154
    2nd Classic from 16.Jan.2016 came with OS-10.3.2.2639
    3rd Classic from 28.Mar.2016 came with OS-10.3.2.2639
Passport from 01.Jun.2015 came with OS-10.3.1.2576

Well looks like that there is no need for any iPlonker or Google-Ad-spy device anytime soon for the next few years to cover my needs.

Glad you were able to get a few back ups. The stock of Classics is dwindling so it's always good to find a brand new one lurking around somewhere.

    Using them what else!
The Classic is a great device and there is not any new BlackBerry OS10 device in the pipeline other theme rebranded noname stuff and this got the wrong OS anyway!
So a spare OS10 device is always a good option 10.3.3 and 10.3.4 are coming too.
By the way this two spare Classics are not entirely my own personal stock but there are more family members rocking BlackBerry OS10 too, so there is need for immediate replacement if needed!
My daughter rocking a Q10 and loves the smaller size, wife rocking a Classic too, one granny pushing a Q5 and the other one a Z30.
The chance that any of this 7 devices in use may fail or get lost and need replacing instantly in proportion to 2 spare Classics in the drawer is not collection but preparation for the next two years to come.

    True.

In Germany prices for Q10s and Classic are falling rapidly. As Mercury is not rising I will use my Classic well into the future. So I am thinking to get some sort of backup too.

Can't go wrong with black, nothing wrong with black... LoL
Everyone likes the look of a the small black, specifically if short, tight and worn by a tasty blond on high heels.. LOL

    Well honestly ;-)
White phone is for girls, blue not available, but may would fell for a Titanium grey Classic but that doesn't exist.
Black is just timeless and has lots of style too.
