I'm going away Caribean for next ten days and hear about BIS. Some say it's a good idea to register so that my BlackBerry would work on Internet World wide. My question is 1) HOW do you register or sign up and how long does it take And 2) HOW do you know if you need to register. Is there a way to see if Blackberry is Locked into a certain Internet zone.
I have fully UNlocked my phone "sim"
    Please reply..

BlackBerry 10 phones do not use BIS, signing up to BIS is completely useless for a Classic or any BB10 phone.

For a Classic, you do not need or use BIS.

    Simple way:
Shut off the Mobile Network on your device, use WiFi only when you leave your carrier service area.

Bit more complex / costly way:
Remove your SIM when you leave your carrier service area. When your feet hit the ground at your destination, seek out a local "pay as you go" or "pre-paid" SIM retailer.
Make sure your Classic will work on their bands/frequencies and you are good to go.

Better, but generally the most costly method:
Find out if your current carrier has international roaming plans.

BIS stood for BlackBerry Internet Service, not BlackBerry International Service. If you want international service for your BB if it's locked to a certain carrier, is see your carrier. If unlocked then see a carrier at your destination and buy a prepaid sim.
