Google Maps runs right out of the box, without patching or using Google Play services.

But there are some features that you can't use without the Google stack:

    - you can't login
    - you don't see your starred places
    - maybe other features that don't work

Hey! Did you get a solution to this problem? I'm having the same issue... tons of places I'd like to save/access but I can't log into my google account from maps...
    Otherwise everything else works well...

After updating to 10.3.2.2474 I can't get my Z10 to work with Google Maps 9.14 and Waze apps. After installing Google Account, Blackberry Google ID, Google settings and Play store from your landing page, I try to install Google Maps from the Play Store but everytime I open it and I get to the screen "Accept & Sign in" it crashes. I have also tried to install Google Maps apk right after a clean OS installation to no avail (with&without the google pack).
I have also tried older versions of Google Maps with the same result. I have even tried to patch the Google Maps apk with GMaps patcher but it displays "Analyzing" for hours...

I might be missing something....could anybody please shed any light on how to make Google Maps to work with BB 10.3.2.2474?

PS: My Kudos to Cobalt for his efforts to make BB10 more Google friendly.

Thanks LyoobaBerry. I'll move the post to a Z10 forum. I can see that Classics are dealing fine with Google Maps.

I downloaded Google Maps 8.2.0 and it is working perfectly on 10.3.2 for me. It has voice navigation too. You do get a message that says you can improve your experience by installing Google Play Services but you can click it closed and it does not come back. Here is a download link for the .apk from my dropbox if you want to give it a whirl

Yup. Works great. Even better when patched (you can sign in and get the added benefits that entails).

I needed something for navigating off-road using compass coordinates (so BB Maps was no sue) so I tried the Google Maps website (not the app) on my Classic. It seems fully functional BUT the blue navigation bar at the top takes up 2/3 of the screen, leaving only a sliver of map. Does anyone know (a) how to hide or shrink it, or (b) a better website? (I really don't want to download an app I may only use once.) Any help much appreciated.

I'm running 10.3.3 on a Classic with Cobalt's mods and Google Maps runs just like my DTek60...You can also install BE Maps Pro from BlackBerry World that runs Google Maps... The one from the PlayStore actually runs better...

Horked, was that meant to be a reply to my post just above, or another one? I'm afraid I don't follow it. I have discovered, by the way, that the Ordnance Survey online map site provides excellent, detailed maps that are not 2/3 obscured by a navigation bar (as Google maps is), but its "locate me" function is very poor -- hundreds of yards out. Does anyone know of a website that provides more detailed maps than BB Maps and that can be seen and used easily on a Calssic screen?

Try using NavFree from BB World. It includes an Offline Maps capability. Very very good.
