I have several BB10 devices (Classic, Q10, Passport, etc.) and only on my Classic do I receive several notifications a day in the Hub for Appstore: Amazon Update Available. If I tap on the item in the Hub, I then select the update (it's not apps, it's the actual Appstore), it looks as though it's updating a new apk file but when it's done, the version number is always the same. If I delete the message from Hub, then almost an hour or so later, it's back again prompting me to do another update. It's an endless loop of many annoying messages each and every day. Funny thing, it doesn't happen on my other BB10 devices, just on the Classic.

Has anyone else seen this? I find it very frustrating and am hoping perhaps someone knows of a solution.

    Thank you!

Yes I had this happen on my Classic, It never seemed to update. Then I found in my root of my device, this. apk, for the update. Check and see if you have one

Thanks dollface. Yes I found an apk file in the apk folder under misc > android > apks, but the date was May 8, 2016 and the version was 1.0.1227.7310 (description says Amazon 6.6.0.200). I tapped on the apk, and finally the "update" button was available and I was prompted for permissions, something that didn't happen previously. Seemed to go fine, then I was able to open the Amazon AppStore with no problem. Just for kicks I restarted the phone and went back to the same folder, there was a new apk dated today, version 1.0.1322.8210 and in the Description it says Amazon 6.7.1.200 (June 18). I did the same thing, ran the apk installer and it's now about an hour later and no new notifications for updates in the Hub. Fingers crossed. Thanks.

(p.s. I still find it strange that this only happens on my Classic and not the Passport or Q10. Oh well.)

I spoke too soon. It's starting again. I wish we could delete all Amazon apps from the device but it doesn't seem possible.

oh no. I haven't had an update prompt since I installed my update. did you log out of the amazon app store, restart the phone and then log back in? I'm just thinking of any possible solution

Curious: what build of BB10 are you running on your Classic (2474 S/W and 2639 OS here), and what is the version and description # for Amazon Appstore (not Underground, that one doesn't seem to be affected by this issue)?

I didn't log out of Amazon, just updated it and restarted the phone. I will give this a try and will report back.

    Thanks.

Strange. Here's mine. Maybe there's a difference between Verizon (CDMA?) and Bell (GSM)?

    No, I'm with Bell (Canada).
Anyway, nothing seems to work for me. I really want to avoid the OS reload route, so I guess I'll have to live with this as is.
    Thanks for your help.

I had this before. My solution was to deny permission requests when updating which essentially shuts down the app. Not ideal, but it stopped the anoyance

Thanks but that's the problem. I don't get prompted for permissions. It just appears to update an apk (it's not clickable, I'll see if I can grab a screenshot the next time it happens) but never does. I also disabled notifications for the Amazon app and I'm still seeing the same problem. Did you have the problem on a Classic as well or another BB10 device?
