If you clean up your files by getting rid of the IMF and nuance files you will gain another +300mb of available RAM

Edit: check your apps and turn off the apps running in the background you don't need.

Your PassPort has lots of RAM so no need to worry about running out of RAM. But if you want to trim it down try deleting the IMF and nuance files. Having less work will allow it to run faster and save on the battery. Since your specs are so high it won't matter.

I thought I would load Google Play and all the apk apps to run Google maps.

Well it doubled the use of my RAM. So I go from 689mb to 1.17gbs.

I'm pulling the Google apps off my Classic not worth it to have Google Maps.

The more unused RAM you have... the faster your phone is... in other words... your phone don't have to work (calculate) so hard..

I don't think that's how it works on mobile. Apps are cached in RAM to increase speed.

Can you please explain how "Apps are cached in RAM" will increase the speed? Are speaking in relation to the speed of the app or the overall speed of the phone. If the RAM is full of operation software to operate various functions, it slows the phone down. Apps have to be "cached" in order to work.

You might also check to see how many apps you have running when minimized. Go to settings, then to security then to permissions check each app and turn off the "run in back ground" or "run when minimized". This will free up additional RAM.

Go through you apps and delete the apps you do not use.

Go to settings, then deice monitor. Look at the apps and programs that are sucking up your memory. Review as current, 12 hrs, 24 hrs and 48 hrs to get an overall picture of what is going on.

Before you change anything take a screen pic of the charts and then compare them after you have made changes.

Some bar file have to be delete through Sanchei

Removed all the Google Apps and some apk apps that duplicate BlackBerry apps.

Here is what I show for available memory. I don't need all that garbage. I'm sticking with Snap.

    This reflects 50 apps.
