Well you dont have to pay after 30 months. So each month that is early it'll cost you 15 dollars a month. So when it releases sometime in august ill be a my 26th month and it'll be 4 months early so ill have to pay 60 bucks extra all together

Have you pasted 30 months? if you are then you'll be able to upgrade with what they give you. If the 9900 isnt an option you'll have to pay alittle extra but not 199.99 something like 100 bucks or so. If not you'll have to pay the 199.99 and the early upgrade fee which is 15 dollars a month extra.

$199 - probably not (will get a hopefully near free torch)
$149 then i will consider (keeping in mind the trade in value i can get for my old bb)
$99 - definite purchase

thats my line of demand =), now its time for rogers/rim to match with their supply and we'll see where we cross out

get through to a retentions rep and i'm sure they'd be happy to extend you to a new 3 year contract and give you a 9900 on the subsidized price. even when i was only a year in i was able to get an upgrade. this was before their early upgrade fee though so i'm not sure if it'll still be possible.

I doubt this phone will release for $99 on contract...I'm almost 100% sure it will be $199 - it's certainly the most expensive device for them to produce to date

Rogers has a tendency to release dates LAST! i would be surprised if the big 3 release it at different times..

with that said... question:
if you pay the early upgrade fee + $199 and you have 2 years left... that'll be just as much as the no contract price..

and they better not pull the "this is only for upgrades" BS at the store!!

the ONLY reason i would think it might not is because the HTC EVO 3D is being released at 149$ and the LG Optimus 3D at 99$... which is why I speculate it might not be as high....
