I have just switched back to the Bold after 18 months on the iPhone 5s because I can't type on a touch screen. Thank you in advance for your guidance and suggestions.

You cannot sideload, or otherwise get Android apps onto any legacy BB OS device. Sorry.

Get a passport or a classic problem solved . But unfortunately you can't sideload android apps on old devices like yours.

The Bold runs on BBOS. This is the old platform and still in use , but it will only run apps from BB world.

    The new BB10 devices ( Z10 , Z30 , Q10 , PassPort , Classic ) run BB and Android apps.

    Forgot two which I added.

Ye, only Java (.JAD or. COD) packages can be installed on BlackBerry OS 7 or older. No such android application packages (.APK).

    Thanks for clarifying.

    So to summarize :

    BBOS + Android apps. = No .
( as in not possible )

    BB10 + Android apps. = Yes .
( as in sometimes yes )

Android applications will work, a majority of them. I know for a fact that Tinychat doesn't work properly (text only, camera does not show up), younow crashes immediately upon signing in.

Those dependent on google play services won't work at all. Wide screen ones will look cramped on 1:1 ratio screened devices if they're 720X720 (Q5, Q10, Classic).
