    that is the secruity wipe screen it means your phone is being wiped and restored to factory settings although i dont understand why it would come up unless you started the process as you need to type in a word to get it to work

    so the phone had a password put on it by my mother who could not remember it and she's like forget it! and left the phone in a drawer for a year

    today I found it and I'm like oh sweet new phone for the modisaur

    but then I entered the wrong passowrd 10 times and this happened

    Yeah that's a built in security feature. If you enter an incorrect password 10 times it wipes all data from device. Although at some point during this process you should have seen an on screen message stating that the device would be wiped if you continue to enter incorrect passwords.
