The press release specifically mentioned sim cards and the 9900 but no mention of the 9930, are those of us on Verizon going to be left in the dust again?

Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything.

Pretty sure they mean the 99XX, the 9900 is just far more common and general. If you take a look in the 9930 you'll find a SIM card, so there shouldn't be any issue for us 9930 users.

Verizon would probably charge us for this feature. Haha.

I am interested in this topic though. I have nothing to give though.

I know geographically UK is part of europe, but for some reason, when we speak of europe we meant anything but UK. so does this extend to UK? even the visa pay wave system is quite limited in the market at the moment.

Is there a solution currently that enables payment with the 9930 and a Visa card? (US)

There's not currently a solution for any phone or any credit card. Banks and carriers need to get on this. Visa and Mastercard have just said they approved certain phones for credit card payments with NFC. It's the banks and carriers job now...
