Useful apps you have installed on your Blackberry Bold?
Instead of browsing AppWorld for apps that might be of any use to me, I figure I'd ask y'all to chime in on what you have installed. The only paid app I've bought so far is iMazing for email features. Free ones installed on my Bold are: BeWeather, Flashlight, Poynt (not sure if I even use it), Tunein Radio.

Poynt is a great app to have and taptalk is another good one also. Depending on what your interest are the app world has tons of apps to choose from.

This question gets asked from time to time and I like to recommend UpVise, which is actually an app suite. The free version includes a cloud-sync notebook, similar to EverNote but much cleaner and faster, in my opinion. That's what I mainly use it for.
The free version also has a text-only Wikipedia app, which I find much quicker than using the browser when I need to look up something quickly. It also has a contacts import and export capability, which at least provides an additional backup and a way to transport contacts to other platforms (UpVise is on all platforms) should the need arise.
The paid version has many more features, mostly useful for businesses. - 05-08-2012, 09:08 AM #12
I've always had BeWeather and Quicklaunch on my bbs. I added Slider Phone Lock last week cuz I got tired of pressing the lock button on top to lock my screen (it was difficult with the OEM soft shell case on it). Love it. One little swipe of my thumb & my screen is back on.

I'm not heavily into apps, but I dabble a bit. For free ones I have the ones from RIM:
Yahoo instant messenger
Googletalk
Windows live instant messenger
AIM instant messenger
I recently purchased and installed Trillian. I'm testing it out to see if I like it. It consolidates all your instant messengers, multiple accounts on each, into one messenger. There's even a free web messenger/interface for the pc or mac. What I like about it is it stays connected, because the messengers are connected on the Trillian server so even if my phone loses signal I won't go offline to my contacts. Also, I can sign out and choose "suspend." This feature turns Trillian off on my phone (to save battery), sets me as "away" everywhere, and pushes the instant messages I receive while suspended to my BlackBerry via email. So far, I like it. Other similar programs people like are Beejive and IM+. I think one or both of those handle skype messaging, too. Trillian doesn't, to my knowledge. - 05-08-2012, 09:31 AM

When I had my BB the only apps I really used were:
Facebook
Ubersocial
Twitter for Blackberry (when ubersocial was acting up)
Tumblr
Opera Mini
Pandora
DocumentsToGo (I believe that's what it was called lol)
Blackboard Learning
I'd occasionally use a weather up but most of the time I just googled the weather for my city.

@.@ its navigation but without a map, you know not like google map
it gives you direction turn by turn in words and signs,
like how much km left, and how much time left and a left or right turn signs
but it used your data, so if you have unlmited data, its good to use it - 05-08-2012, 02:01 PM #22
i've got a lot of the apps previously mentioned in other posts (whatsapp, beweather, google maps) but since i haven't heard anyone mention these, i'd advise you get your hands on some NFC tags and download NFC Shortcuts & Shortcutme.
i never touch my sound profile settings because i have these handy stickers stuck around everywhere. simply tap the phone to the sticker and it's done. 1 in the office to put my phone in silent, 1 in the car to activate the normal sound profile and 1 on my bedside table to activate bedside mode.Last edited by 416to604; 05-08-2012 at 02:06 PM.

I have several apps that most people have which are kinda the within the norm of top apps...one app that I truly hope they upgrade for bb10 is my Ascendo Money app. I use it all the time for personal finance. It is a paid app at around $30 but I don't at all regret it and they actually give you a 30 day trial. It's fantastic if you are one of those people who like to track their account balances. You can forecast your budget and much more...it's my go to over my TD Bank app because it's simple and very detailed. It also comes with a desktop download so you can sync between your pc and phone. No, I don't work for them but I simple love this app.
BlackBerry 10...the future of mobile technology, today!.

Draw Something

Mint.com
CapitalOne App
DropBox
Google Drive
PATH Train Schedule (a NJ thing)
Kindle
Instagram
Netflix
oh, wait, I don't have a BB anymore...Let's see, if I had a BB, out of the above list how many are available:
Dropbox
BB10 better have apps, lots of apps or else it won't amount to much. The OS looks promising but you got to realize that so does Android and iOS. By the time BB10 comes out, the competition will have released new devices as well. The new Samsung Galaxy III has some nifty features and other Android devices are coming out at a fast pace. The panda has spoken!
