Default upgrading through 3rd party vendor as opposed to Verizon

I work at target and they may start carrying the 9930 and if they do, I want to upgrade through them to get my 15% team member discount

Only thing is, I'm sort of hesitant to upgrade from anyone other than verizon. I should be able to keep my grandfathered data plan, right?

Has anyone had any real bad experiences upgrading through third parties?

I just upgraded and as long as you upgrade to a newer smart phone you will keep the unlimited plan.

I asked the same question to a Sprint member on the phone yesterday. I told him that it was $50 cheaper in Walmart, and of course he tried talking me out of it. He said that if something goes wrong with the phone from Walmart, then I am $hit outta luck as opposed to buying from a Sprint store.
