Default upgrade to 9930 or wait for bb10

Have a Milestone x, and it's time to upgrade, should I get the new sweet 9930 or wait for bb10?

If you had a Playbook, I'd say get the 9930. If not and you can wait, probably worth waiting.

Dude... You gotta wait for BB10. I used to have a Storm (worst phone ever made by BB) and I had to wait and wait... and... wait some more for that darn 9930 to finally come out. It sucked waiting, but I'm glad that I did. I know that when BB10 comes out, it is gonna be so awesome that I will break my contract and pay to get out of my 9930 and then pay $200 or $300 more to get the BB10, but I wont care... It will be mine!

So with that being said, wait dude... Wait... Otherwise you are going to have an awesome phone that was introduced in 2011 and will be OS 7. And everybody else in Crackberry land will be rocking a BB10 next January or February with OS 10 (that 3 steps ahead of 7) and you are gonna be stuck for 2 yrs or more with yesterday's news.

So what I'm trying to say is todays sweetness by getting a 9930 will pale in contrast to tomorrow's suckiness when everyone but you has a BB10..

Don't fall into the trap now and put up with 1 and a half years of suckiness.. I'm just tryin to help a brotha out! Hold on wait like the rest of us for the awsomeness of BB10! You just have 6 months to go...

    Good Luck!!!!

No, existing phones are not upgradeable.
    BlackBerry Z10 (10.1.0.273) + BlackBerry Bridge (3.0.9.11) + BlackBerry PlayBook 64GB Wi-Fi (2.1.0.1526) = Awesome!

So they are gonna have a completely new line of phones, or just a small chip change in the 9900 model that uses OS10?

Well, I'm sure they could use the shells and keyboards, but the guts inside will be new.

this is where i think, atleast in my opinion, RIM is losing this whole game. atleast there should have been some consideration for those with 99xx models to be able to upgrade to the forthcoming OS 10..

BB10 runs QNX which is what the playbook has and OS7 Blackberry's don't.

    Eventually a new line up.

I'm guessing the new BB10 will be around $249 or $299. We'll have to wait and see what the i-phone 5 will cost in October along with the Windows 8 phone also due out around Sept/Oct... I'm assuming they'll both be in that area (with a 2 yr contract of cours). But we'll have to wait and see... My wife just picked up a Galaxy S III for just $149... So maybe the other mfg's flagship phone prices may drop a bit too just like Samsung did...
It's gonna fun to see all of the new phones and prices coming out soon! But I'm still gonna guess around $299 for the premium BB10!

The 9900 is a great phone, but if you can afford to wait then I say wait it out. I brought my bold knowing that I'm going to buy bb10 phone off contract. So that phone is probably going to cost me around 549$. It all depends on your finances.

I would take the wait and see method to see what the new devices look like. I hope they make a BB10 device like the bold. The bold has a great feel with an awesome keyboard. And from what I have been reading they will still make OS 7 devices for a few years along side the BB10 ones.

Don't waste an upgrade. Wait for BB10. However, you can look on ebay for the 9930. That is what I have been doing.

I put an ad up on craigslist to purchase a used Bold 9930, or to trade it for my spare Milestone X that I have, figured this would be the best of both worlds solution. I can get back into Blackberry, and still have my current Droid to fall back on if it doesn't work out, also I am not under contract so when BB10 comes out I can jump into it at a subsidized cost. My carrier is a small CDMA company called Pioneer Cellular, will any 9930's work or is it carrier specific?

Talk to laserlike, either post or send him a message, he might be interested in selling you the 9930.

ready to go 'will it blend?' with my new 9930
