    Hi all,

I'm a relatively happy 9780 owner, but there are two issues with the phone that bug me, and I wonder if the 9900 is the answer. The first niggle is the browser, which I find ok in a pinch, but can be extremely slow and memory-limited when rendering pages. Most of the time I resort to turning off javacript support to improve page loading times and the number of pages I can have open. Even once pages load properly, they are sometimes difficult to read because of tiny fonts (and I have tried increasing default font size to no avail). It also seems as though the memory used for app storage and working memory for the apps comes out of the same pool, so I have a pretty minimal set of apps on the device, and am always reluctant to download updates, because the updates never seem to get smaller, only more bloated.

So, is the situation any different with the 9900? Is the web browser much better? I've heard there is a 200M or so limit for installed apps - does anyone find this to be a limitation when using the phone?

Another alternative for me would be the 9790...

    Thanks!
    Bob

I would say go for the 9900 although most others on here would advise you to wait for BB10. I initially upgraded from the 9700 to the 9790. Only had it for a week, didn't like the feel of it so I exchanged it.for the 9900 and have never looked back.

You will find the 9900 far superior to the 9780, there is no comparison.

The 9900/9930 is equiped with a better browser than my previous Bold 9650. I haven't had much memory improvement but overall 9930 is top of the line.

Do you find the browser to be pretty adequate? I am mostly use it for reading news and articles...

I will eventually buy a BB10 phone, but I will wait for the early adopters to work the kinks out.

i was on the same boat as you, I had the 9780 for years, tried out other phones and none of them could compare to the reliability and battery life of the 9780. I have now upgraded to the 9900 and ALMOST everything is better! the only thing thats not better is the battery life. but if you can manage using the bold for 18h and then needing a charge you are good to go!

Bob, the browser is very quick. I use the 9900 browser mainly for news and the BBC's F1 site and it' excellant. I use the pinch to zoom which makes any text easy to read. (even with my old eyes). Plus the fact that the screen is larger than your 9780.

Thanks Alan - I think I will have to take a closer look down at my local T-mo store.
