i'm updating to v7.1.0.258 on a BBBold 9900. It's taking its sweet time - 1h50min and counting. Is that too long? should i unplug it?

what screen are you on? Also, what procedure did you use to load the OS? After downloading the OS, did you restart your pc?

Yah. I think its a bit too long.. THe latest leaked is 7.1.0.267 so why are you using the 7.1.0.258??

Anyway, time to find out how to recover from a bricked BB phone.

I am conducting the update through the BB-Desktop software. Did not restart my comp after installing the update. Deleted Vendor.xml though. I returned to BBerry a fews days now after 1,5 years, so dont know the new methods..

So, it's too long, right? I'll unplug it, and see what happens. From what i remember, i think it's stuck in the "recover/restore"-mode.

Are you using the correct OS for the 9900 ?

I have not seen a leak of .258 for this phone.

I used the .258-Version because it was released by T-Mo, and i bought a T-Mo device ...

Just unplugged it. Not a brick yet, just the home screen and the old v7.0-Version ...

Did a computer reboot. Started everything again. Running smoothly now. The computer reboot did the trick for me.

Will post again after i'm done for future references if anyone encounters the same problem.

Glad to hear your phone is up and running. I personally think that .267 is probably the most stable OS...that's just me though.
