I'm experiencing a very frustrating "feature," where entering a URL into the browser opens the App World app, instead of opening the desired web page (textnow.com).

I don't want to get the app (it's not available for the 9900), I have it on my iPad, and want to use its web services on the BB, but the browser redirect prohibits me from accessing them. Seems a lot heavy-handed, I'm basically being hijacked by my own phone, what gives?

How do I stop this from happening and visit the site I want? Any settings I need to change?

http://textnow.com

If they are auto-detecting the browser and re-directing you I am not sure there is a lot you can do. As I recall on BBOS the browser allows you to change the user agent. Or does it? Probably not.
