I just moved to Manhattan for school and I have an unlocked 9900. My plan last month was 100mg at 3G and then after that it would switch to EDGE. Despite what I have seen on other forums 3G DID work for that period of time. I updated my plan to include 2gig of data at 3G and now it will not switch off EDGE. I know that I had 3G service I just do not know why I dont anymore, T-Mobile says I never had 3G service if I have an unlocked phone but trust me I know the difference of 3g compared to the speed of EDGE. Just confused as to what is going on and how to make it work.

Rogers 3G is not the same as T-Mobile 3G.

So all your Rogers 3G will see is ATT's 3G signal, not T-Mobiles

That is great, however what I said still stands.

Rogers 3G technology is NOT compatible with T-Mobile 3G technology.

Rogers EDGE technology IS compatible with T-Mobile EDGE technology.

So if you have a Rogers Unlocked Phone, you will only get EDGE on T-Mobile, regardless of plan

It should be noted however that tmo is refarming its spectrum. 3G HSPA+ will be availible in the PCS band (the one that rogers uses) in the coming months. 4G LTE will take its old slot in AWS 1700MHZ
