Just recently invested in a camera surveillance system.
Set up a motion detection for 1 camera....so whenever there is motion, it will email me a clip of that camera.
The file is in an .AVI format.

I received my 1st alert, tried to play it on my BB 9900....and to my surprise this is the error i received.
"THE MEDIA BEING PLAYED IS OF AN UNSUPPORTED FORMAT"

I tried resetting (SOFT & HARD) my BB....same error.

Does anyone know of a way that i can get .AVI support on my 9900 to open and play video attachments from emails.

    Here is my device details.

    9900
    7.1 Bundle 921 (V7.1.0.267, Platform 5.1.0.230)
    Telus

Any help would be much appreciated.

It all depends on the codec used for the compression. AVI is just a container for different codecs, DIVx, XVid and several others. Check the manual and see what codec it uses and if it can be changed. I know MP4 works on BB.

Have you saved it to your device or are you just trying to play from the server? If the second, try the first.
