Hello,

I tried to update my BB Bold 9900 using ELITE1's OS UPGRADE GUIDE. I deleted BOTH Vendor.xml files:

1) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
2) C:\Users\Obaid\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Then I searched my compute for the file names "Vendor.xml" and "vendor.xml" but there wasn't any.

After when I double clicked "Loader.exe", it still didn't load OS in loader. I tried to run Loader.exe by Administrator as well but still no help. It's only showing Apps like BBM, Watsapp etc. but not the actual OS.

Please help, what I am doing wrong? I am new to BB :/

When you downloaded the OS, did you install the OS onto your computer?

What OS are you currently on? Do you have an older OS installed on your computer? If so delete that one and try again.

Currently, I am on v7.0.0.585, Platform 5.0.0.734.

I dont have any other OS installed on my PC. I ONLY installed v7.1.0.1098 from O2 UK which I downloaded from this same forum.

I have tried uninstalling everything and install again.but no help

I'm not sure if this is what is happening to with your issue, but I was in a similar situation as your self trying everything and wasting hours and hours. Finally, as a last dig effort I decided to uninstall the OS from the computer, delete it and re-download the file again. Then did the usual thing to install an OS as before. Bam! Autoloader recognized the new OS and loaded it. I guess I had a bad download the first time. Try this to see if this works for you. Good luck.

could your PC can "read" your 9900? did you use DM? or other application to load OS?
try to delete the driver from Device Manager ( I guess you use PC) and reconnect your 9900 to PC again.
