Hi,eeeeeeeeee.
Hi,eeeeeeeeee.
you can buy housing kits and an lcd screen in white from ebay or an oem website, make sure the back of your black screens numbers match the white screen you order or it wont work
When I buy the white screen with the matching code, does it matter if the white screen originates from a non-AT&T phone?
Doesn't matter as long as the codes on back of the old screen match you new screen BTW on ebay it will cost you about 60$ to change the color of your phone

So I'm guessing there is no white screen with the matching code that which is also a non-touch screen? I know the 9900 comes with a touch screen but I hate it, lol.
all 9900 screens will be touch screens, i guess you could try to damage the digitiser but i really dont recommend it as you could break the screen completely which would screw you out of 30/$60. you could try multiple layers of screen protectors and lowering the screen sensitivity to try and deaden its response
What is a digitizer? What does it look like and where is it located?
Oh ok. I just googled a picture of it. So, you are telling me that I should damage an area on the digitizer? Do I need to make sure I don't damage the entire piece?
Maybe you'd be better off with a 9360...this thread is scaring me.
Just tell me what happens when I disconnect a digitizer. Can I do this? Pleasee
i said i dont reccommend you damage it lol just buy another blackberry type if youre willing to wreck the screen
I tell ya what. Send me your 9900....and i will send you a like new condition 9700 with trackpad but NO touch screen :-D DO NOT DAMAGE THE DIGITIZER. That is just a waste of a perfectly good screen, if you hate it that much , it is a active digitizer that reacts to the electrical connection in your skin, Buy some thumb condoms at a stationary store, or wear latex gloves.....screen wont work then lol
This is the last question, I promise. The article above you says that disconnecting the digitizer will cause phone calls to not work. Is this true?
i think the comment from that thread meant that the proximity sensor wont respond anymore, so if you hold your phone to your ear when in a call the screen will stay on and you might accidently press buttons with the side of your face
