The first few hours of using my 9930 I was experiencing the same thing. Its a precision thing that must be learned on these devices. Thanks to my 9650, I was used to swiping my thumb clear off the touchpad & midway through the screen so when switching to the 9930, I had to re-train myself.

You should know that this is corrected in the latest leaked os (.353)

They made a square above the track pad non responsive to touch to resolve this issue people were having.

It still works to touch that area for selecting, but swiping you're finger over doesn't do anything - its actually pretty nice.

    Good to hear!

Not sure i'm quite ready to risk poor battery life by upgrading from .261... Aside from this 'misclicking'..im loving this buildd

Wow; no wonder I got the hang of it so fast. I upgraded to 353 within the first couple days of owning the device.

I am using old firmware but i don't have tha problem so far. My problem is my big thumb keep rubbing at T & Y keys because they are too close to the touchpad. I think these 2 keys will wear out faster than the rest lol... and no firmware can cure this.

Official and leaks are essentially the same thing.

I'm having the same trouble, but I haven't upgraded the OS. Would it help to adjust the sensitivity settings of the screen and/or pad?

It didn't help me any. Just upgrade your OS; it's pretty straight-forward and quick.

That's what makes me nervous though. Upgrade to what? If I understood the previous posts correctly, there isn't an official upgrade yet. Is that right?

I can confirm the dead spot on .353. I panicked at first because I thought my screen was defective.
