    I just updated a few weeks ago to 7.1.0.580 (Bundle 1737) official Sprint version. Battery life has been wonderful with this version for me!

    I noticed however that my system files are taking up 281MB. This seems very high. Is the case with everyone?

    Most OS installs run about 250-280 MB. After you've installed the OS to your PC, Download BBHT from the iexplorers page HERE.

    Check all the boxes to remove unwanted/unused items from your OS package, plug in your BB, then click Shrink My OS Live!. BBHT will remove the unwanted modules from your device, freeing up additional memory. If you haven't loaded the OS already, you can Shrink My OS! to remove the files, then delete vendor.xml and launch Loader.exe to update your OS. I regularly shrink my OS from ~260MB down to about ~64MB.

    I've read a lot of people run into issues when shrinking OS 7.1 so use with caution.

    What sort of problems? I use it to shrink 7.1, no issues that I can see. Not denying, but curious.

    I don't remember exactly other than some people having issues with errors etc that were attributed to shrinking.

    Just a quick question...how do you install your os to your comp? With blackberry user tools?

    When you download it, it should be an exe or msi file that will install like any other windows app.
