Is there a stopwatch on the BB 9930? I found an article saying go to Applications and select the clock and go from there, but I don't have a clock in applications.
Does a stopwatch exist for the 9930?

The clock icon should be there somewhere...
Find it, open it, press the menu button and select Stopwatch.

Here I am looking for it in the Applications folder, and it was on the home screen.

For any program, you can always use Universal Search. Just start typing "Clock" and the icon should appear.
That saves you time remembering which folder the application is in.
