I hoped the update might clear up what ever conflict is causing this issue, but no such luck. Over all a good update however.
An OS update won't fix that... and you'll keep transferring the same problem over to each new OS every time you restore your data.
You need to do a 'selective' backup of just the important stuff (calendar entries, contacts, messages etc.) No settings! Then do a security wipe, and restore that selective backup. Set up your personal settings from scratch, and you should be fine from then on.
Downloaded fine; signal seems to have improved actually. Device is more responsive and seems fine tuned for battery saving. Keeping fingers crossed but so far no complaints.
Please could anyone drop the link to the 7.1.0.560 update. Thanks
The only link available is a java dump of 9930/7.1.0.580 (B1737) that I posted when the OTA was made available. As far as the actual setup, including radio being available to install on other carrier devices as an actual Base OS......when its available, everybody will know.
Noticed two things in 7.1.0.580 so far, one good and one bad. Good: With wifi, I'm not asked to "log in to wifi hotspot" anymore, it automatically connects. Bad: When rebooting, it gets hung up about halfway and stops. Gotta do an "alt-up-del" reboot to get it going again.

I still have to agree to log in to my job's wifi hotspot.
I too am getting the constant hanging on a reboot. I'm hoping that when the setup is finally available that a wipe/reload will cure it.
NO PROBLEMS here (knocking on wood), OS7.1.0.580 is running nice and smooth on my Sprint Bold 9930. I even noticed an increase in battery life as well. I'm a happy customer .
I was a Bold 9650 user up until last night, when I finally got time to setup my 9930. I actually had to run it through 2 full update cycles as the phone was purchased in like new condition from a user that had barely used it months ago. The OTA update process went through fine both times and man I've noticed this phone is a ton more snappier and stable than the tried and true 9650. I did observe a single hang up after the most recent update during rebooting...but since then its been good. I cannot believe how good the keyboard is along with the actually quite good camera!
Update is working beautifully for me. Really liking it. For those having hangups during reboots - don't know how long you're waiting before you decide it's hanging and reboot again, but depending on how long it's been since the last reboot and whether you've added or deleted an app or changed themes, sometimes it looks like it's stopped booting (for me it likes to stop & stare at me between the trackpad & back button) but you just have to wait for it and it will continue on its way. Sometimes it seems like it's taking an eternity cuz we want to get going again, but it's really just a minute or so. Hope that's all it is.
Anyone notice that this update is now available as a download from the Blackberry site under Sprint (didn't read thru the entire thread)? I'm downloading now and will be upgrading my VZN 9930 this evening. Cheers!
