I have a few contacts on speed dial. Whenever I hold the key down to dial them, the phone makes a really loud ringing sound via the speakerphone as it calls up the contact. Is there any way of turning down that dialing volume?
Actually, I was wondering the same thing. I feel like an obnoxious user in a crowded bus when I use speeddial. It was never that loud on my 9000 and 9800!
Yes it is still that loud in the Phonecall only mode.
True if I only new which setting turns it off. Do you?
There is no option to turn down volume for that tone. What I do in a crowded area is just use the 'quiet' profile so it won't make that sound. But then, my conversation is louder **shrugs his shoulders **
This sound also existed in the older bold and curve. No way to get rid of it. Not sure why BB makes it mandatory. Stuff like this drives people up the wall.
Yes I do remember that sound on my old Curve and Bold. Not sure why the 9900 equivalent is so much louder. Some of you suggested changing the profile to silent or vibrate before dialing, which is a valid workaround only if you remember the change the profile back after you are done with your call
