Ok not sure if anyone has noticed this but I carry around a few devices so it's easy for me to compare. I will have to say by far my 9930 has the worst speaker phone out of my smartphones. It sounds very loud which is a plus but not very clear at all. I literally have to turn it off after about 30 seconds or call the person from another one of my phones to have a crisp sound. The phone sounds great when holding it to my ear or with the headphone in, but the speaker phone is pretty bad. Anyone else experiencing this (already preparing for everyone to say no your device is messed up get a new one, or oh it must just be you).
Mine sounds pretty good, I think it boils down to expectations.....I'm mean, I don't expect my 9930 to sound as good as my BOSE Stereo system. I've used my 9930 speaker extensively while on a phone call and listening to music and I think it's pretty good for the size. Maybe your speaker needs replacing
I believe it comes down to my expectations as the previous poster said. I compared it to my old 9700 and 9780 and I know all three speakers aren't blown. They were similar my 9930 being a bit better, until using the other devices I have.
Your phone is messed up, a bad speaker. Happened to mine a month or so ago. Called Verizon, they sent me a new one that is crystal clear, best speaker phone I've ever used.
I have both 9900 (daily driver) and an iPhone. I use speakerphone all the time. Compared with iPhone, 9900 speaker does sound muffled. But it's not something that bothers me. It may not be good for listening to music but I feel it's more than adequate for daily use.
