Im surprised to hear this as my gmail account works very well on my 99xx model. When deleting it gives me the option to delete on handheld and computer or just handheld.
Ive also used ymail and its flawless too. Give it a try.
Are you sure you don't have the gmail acct set up properly? I get labels on mine. And as mentioned previously you should have option to delete on phone only and phone and acct
Gmail works perfectly for me and always has. Like blueyestm stated. Check your Email Reconciliation setting. Your options are delete on: Handheld, Handheld & Mailbox or Prompt. Also check setting under "On Conflicts".
Thank you for your sugestions. I have two email accounts, gmail and yahoo. Gmail is my main account with contact and calender sync. Recontilation settings are ok. It's set up to delete mail on bb and server, without asking. Wifi sync is on.
For conflict set up i've tried both settings server and phone and i don't see the difference.
You are not alone in your frustrations with Gmail to BlackBerry integration. In many cases it works, works with delays or works only sporadically.
When I was using Gmail and BlackBerry on Google Apps I actually paid extra for the BES which did work for instant sync but ultimately was another layer of complexity.
I use 3 different email accounts on my 9930. One is a work email account, an AOL account and a Yahoo account. I have the option to delete on the phone and mailbox or just the phone.
Couple of days ago I've created an account at Microsoft's freshly laucnhed Outlook.com and so far I'm loving it. Now it only allows you to sync contacts. Calendar and stuff will come later as they say.
But the web UI of this mailbox is simple and uber easy to use.
When you add it onto your BlackBerry it shows up as Windows Live account.
... I have the option to delete on the phone and mailbox or just the phone.
I have also this option. But this result that my Mail, deleted on the BB, actually not deleted on the server, no matter if i choose to delete only on the phone or delete on the phone and server.
I use blackberry e mail works great. (Xxxxx@ att.blackberry.net) I've read it is very secure, that it is not stored on servers anywhere just on your device and recipients. BUT If your phone crashes, it is a long frustrating phone call with att to get your email address back. I'm on my 3rd bb 9900 with att since release in Nov 2011 due to bricking. I'll deal with that lost email issue cause of the security of bb email.
Anyone else have issues with lost email address due to bricking/new replacement phone?
