I downloaded skype application on my unlocked bold 9900 and its working like a charm.
Just wanted to share this so people who wants skype can do the same

Is this the official Skype application in App World? I've taken a quick look and haven't seen it. Even though it uses a lot of bandwidth Skype works well when I use mobile hotspot on my 9900.
7200>8800>9000>8520>9000>9800>9900. If something's broken, a battery pull can usually fix it... - 04-14-2012, 08:44 AM #3Thanked by:

if you do have 3 sim card and it has internet, then just go to planet 3 on your browser and you will be able to find it in the app sector, but you need to view all the apps and you will find skype.
When you click on it it will give you a link to download it - 04-14-2012, 09:05 AM

lets just say "belated april fool" and move right along..
there is no useful skype app for Blackberry, and none at all for the 9900.. the op needs screenshots

The no skype topic is probably the only real complaint I have regarding my 9900. It is the only feature I would say I think is a mandatory option. I use Skype prolifically for work and private Life and when I moved back to BB from Android it is the only thing I miss.
It is also the thing that is keeping me from buying a PlayBook. - 04-14-2012, 09:36 AM #8
Verizon has had Skype since last year.

this is true, but also an obfuscation.
the great value of skype is the VOIP voice calling, which is not offered... the skype version for VZ requires calling a gateway number to place a call ..this puts it in the same category as a calling card..of which there are hundreds of providers..

I take it if you download using a 3 sim.... Then replace the sim with your usual network providers sim it will not work anymore?

Skype will only work on BB's on the following networks:
- Verizon
- 3 (UK & Australia)
- Telkomsel

If you are with one of Skype’s mobile partners, you can get Skype on supported BlackBerry® phones.Last edited by upset; 08-14-2012 at 07:28 PM.
