Hi guys, my 9930 should be arriving today so I'm very excited

I'm travelling to Mexico City next month and wanted to see exaclty how SIMs work (i've enver used one before). Essentially, i just turn off the phone, insert a SIM card that I buy in Mexico, and when I turn it on, the phone now uses the number on that SIM card and I can make calls locally?

    Thanks!

Yes, you are right. You cannot remove/add SIM card without removing the battery so... obviously you have to turn off the phone when you do the switch. Once the SIM switch is done, the phone will reboot and give you the access to the new network.

Also keep in mind your phone MUST be unlocked in order for the new SIM to work. If it is locked to Sprint, then it won't work.

There are many unlockers on crackberry and you need a get an unlock code before you insert the Mexican SIM.

Just make sure you realize that BIS may not work on whichever carrier you use in Mexico. Having that problem with T-Mobile right now.
