I had the issue with shutup camera, however after updating to the new leak os 7.1.0.402 everything works perfectly. You can now silence the camera and exit the app any way (via bb button/close or just the back button and the phone works on the bold 9900.) Previously on os .342 I was having phone issues (phone would activate speaker and mic would be muted) now everything is perfect. I also found on .342 if you close via BB button/close the app will close properly apose to if you just hit the back button where the app would mess up the phone. In short .402 seems to fix everythin. (At least for me it did.)

I just realised that I am not running the version from app world. I am on vesion 1.0.5 I was given access to this build for testing and had not realised the developer updated to 1.1.1 I tried the app world version and it does not work for we so I went back to the test build I have. I have informed the developer about this, so hopefully a fix will be soon on the way, the build I have does work flawleslly

We are working hard to find a workaround/solution. Thanks for your patience.

work around found, after taking silent pictures close app then open it and take a normal sounding picture and then you can hear and talk on the phone again.

Actually the developer told me a better workaround: when you're using shut up camera, instead of hitting back or end to get out of the app, just hit the menu and then close. That did it for me.

Oh well that does work on my phone too. So with that working I can say this app is working well as it needs to. Just happy to not have to pull battery to fix it, so for those times when I hate hearing it I know I can use without grief. I have tested it numerous times at this point and feel pretty good about it.

Here's a silent app
Amigos!
I have a 9930
I bought:
Silent Camera Pro with Camera Timer - Capture Multiple Pics In One Go
by
Parachute Mobile
(USD) 0.99
Pros: There is no CLICK when you use This app to take pictures.
Pros:
- Mute works when you take pictures from within This app instead of the native camera app
- Take multiple pictures with a single click
- Adjust delay before first shot, delay between shots, and number of shots
- App includes zoom function
Cons:
- This app shows the viewfinder display and the settings in the same window, so the viewfinder is smaller than full-screen
- After clicking a picture (or a single click for a series of pictures), the viewfinder display goes white. You have to exit and re-enter This app to re-activate the viewfinder. That is surprisingly NOT a big problem, just weird.
- By taking a picture from within This app, what happens to the Exposure, Flash, Stabilization, and Resolution settings that are available in the native Camera app? I tried, but turning on the flash in the native app has no effect in This app. And This app has no Flash setting -- so unfortunately, there seems to be no way to activate the Flash with This app.
- There is no resolution adjustment in this app. .PNG pictures are taken at 640x480, only.
The extra bells and whistles are interesting. But to mute the Shutter Click sound, I didn't intend to lose any capabilities. Being limited to 640x480 and losing the flash is not an equitable trade-off.
Should I try to pursue getting my money back? Well, that's another can of worms...
Can I assume that Any app that claims to silent the Shutter Noise is similarly an entire new camera app instead of something that just silents the click in the native app?
Happy hunting,

There is a app that uses the native camera and all of its features and works perfect to quite the shutter sound. It is not just a screenshot type app. Here's a link. The name is ShutUp Camera and it works perfect.

Thanks to jordan559 CrackBerry Abuser
I bought the ShutUp app. And it helps.
Sometimes it silences the click with the first camera shot, but then the 2nd shot goes Ker-Click, again.
The next time, I got the camera to shut up for a few shots in a row.
I'll see if I can figure out what it wants to keep being silent, dependably.
ciao,
