Self upgrade to 7.1
Good day Crackberry forums, I've been lurking for some time now looking for feedback and opinions on the 9900 until finally, I've decided to choose 9900 over iPhone 4s, now I have been using Nokia mobile devices my whole life and this RIM device is a whole new experience for me and I am very happy about it.
Now to my main point of creating this thread, I am from the Philippines, and when I check the blackberry website(ph.blackberry.com) and try to search for an update I only get a 7.0.xxxx version firmware. All over the world Os7 user have already upgraded to 7.1.xx and we are still stuck with 7.0, I'm wondering if it is safe for me to use the China released version and upgrade my firmware with it? I'm afraid to brick my device.
Thank you. - 06-07-2012, 01:20 AM #2
It won't brick it. Just follow the guide in this forum on how to load it and you will be fine.

go for it. as long as you follow the instructions (i use the loader method), it will be easy. make sure you do a backup first. good luck!

OMG estro22, your blog, your BLOG helped me! Apparently some guides forget to include the step 2-b. I've been doing everything but nothing's happening because I was missing step 2-b. Thank you very much! I was starting to lose hope in fixing this because I've already spent four hours trying to install that OS. Thank you very much! It's currently installing and I hope nothing goes wrong.

Always remember those damn vendor.xml files. They're a beeotch to get rid of.
