safe things to remove from os 7?
Im new to blackberry but i was a rooter and always tinkering with my android, so i read about shrinking the os which i plan on doing to my 9930. i was wondering if anyone has a list of things that are or arent safe to uninstall.
Thanks! - 04-29-2012, 03:33 PM #2
some people have had bad experiences shrinking OS7, i know myself i have been boot looped a few times
you really dont need to shrink right away
run it and then see what you dont use, and shrink afterBIG UP BIG UP, ITS A STICK UP STICK UP
I may be blunt, but it was the only way you would understand! @Fubaz

ive never had an issue shrinking. im sure there a a few guides on here if you poke around in the hybrid section. i used to shrink all carrier bloatware, all languages and all fonts. thats pretty much it. if you use one of the popular shrinking apps, it does all that for you by just checking boxes. do some research before you tinker, as fubaz said, you could brick yourself.

First of all, it's not necessary to shrink os7 like some previous os's. I did shrink push-to-talk, amazon store, fonts, languages, games and some social media that I never use.

I removed a bunch of stuff using Desktop Manager - languages, facebook, and more. I just UNticked the various "apps" using DM and then let DM do the removals.
