how do i remove vendor restrictions on my blackberry 9900? These restrictions prevent me from installing the new 7.1 software bundle through a downloaded file.
When the phone is connected and I have run the software using the loader, it does not give me the option to update the software. it only shows my files for backup, etc.

There likely are not any "vendor restrictions" on your BlackBerry.

Did you install the device OS on your computer?
Did you delete BOTH of the vendor.xml files from your computer?

Did you figure it out? I'm trying to do the same. I know there are tools such as Radio Lab Tools and MFI Multiloader which may help doing this... But I've had no confirmation.

What Switchbeach said. The OS these days comes with a pair of Vendor.xml files. Unless both are removed Loader will not see the OS. Vendelete app works. Or read an OS thread for full install instructions usually from Elite1 and in the first page or two.
