That physical keyboard, and the OS, which uses the keyboard to shortcut many functions. Its very nice to use and feels great to type on. Is why I would get the blackberry over the iphone.

I'm a little late to this party but - screen readability in sunlight! Has anyone here tried to read an iPhone screen in sunlight, or with sunglasses? Yikes you have to go off into a shady corner somewhere! Mind you, if you're a smoker you might meet some new friends.

I just came back to bb after using an s2, and iphones for the past year and change.
They are toys, intended for entertainment rather than productivity. Don't get me wrong, I dig android, but ios is a joke. Old technology, just as far behind the times as rim is. BUT, the physical keyboard is a must. The build quality of the devices is much better than other devices in my opinion. Never have a worn a case on a bb and never have I broken a screen. and the secure messaging, that's the entire focus of rim. Nobody can compete with rim when it comes to messaging.

Excellent point. I never take the iPad on the terrace. The PlayBook is perfect in sunlight.

The body of this thread by the OP is vastly misleading and had they done a search, it would have revealed dozens of "why did you buy <blackberry model>?" Threads.

Why I chose the 9900 after having the

QWERTY physical keyboard.
Messaging (SMS, E-Mail, IM dead last)
Being productive, typing much faster and more efficient.
Direct access to the dial screen of the phone area.
Unified inbox (BBM, e-mail, social applications)

I came from a windows mobile device and a samsung flipphone before the blackberry experience had me. I also tried android and just cannot get used to it for the life of me.

BlackBerry it is, for life.
