Default Quick question-Battery life with 3G only

I use EDGE only when i am not connected to wifi to make the day and I am bored as of 2G speeds as you would imagine.
I was wondering what you guys were getting with 3G only (no WIFI!), can you please share your discharge rates when on idle or in use.
Thanks!

Do you have Meterberry application installed? (3rd party)
Or if any of you have 7.1 device analyzer has battery tests in it, you can use that also.

Or just do simple math

that while i was at Disney world, so roaming and 10-15 calls a day, texting the group to find out where everyone is at meal times and the evening, and the occasional picture taking. this is all with BT and wifi turned off and brightness to 10.

lol, one week ? are you kidding me ? are you sure that you're using a Bold 9900 ? or maybe some Nokia from seven years ago.
That battery life is impossible in this device, or maybe u have a new world record.

Only 3G?
My 9900 would last about 10 hours on moderate use.
That is 5-10 calls, ввм every hour, 25-30 emails, upto 5 clicks on camera and 5 ввм groups active.

On heavy use, it would last about 6-7 hours.
That is 30+ calls, ввм every 2 mins, 75+ emails, upto 50 clicks on camera and 5 ввм groups active.

How I wish my 9900 heavy use lasted 14 hours like my 9780. :P

Are you kidding us? It's a world record. :-) Do reach out to RIM - for a reward.

Thanks!
3G only - idle time - 8-10% battery drain / hr. (stupidly high)
2G only - idle time - 0-1% battery drain /hr. (normal)
3G/2G - idle time - 6-8% battery drain / hr. (high)

Relevant settings being,

battery saving mode = off
bluetooth = off
wifi = off
backlight = 10, timeout = 10 secs

Few apps - but all configured to refresh only at lauch.

Not sure what & where the problem really is, just upgraded the OS from the official 7.0.0.585 release to the leaked 7.1.0.267 release (from SK telekom) - assuming the upgrade would solve the battery drain issue. But in vain. I mean, there's been some difference - but nothing radical worth reporting.

What is this "battery saving mode" I keep hearing about? I've looked through all the options and have not seen it. Is this a term used for something else, or is there an actual Battery Saving Mode one can put the phone into?
