Default Please Help Blackberry Verizon 9930

    Hi Team ,

I have recently ported my number from vodafone(India) to reliance GSM(India) as the later signals were excellent in my area. When i went for MNP the manager at the reliance web world informed me that my unlocked Verizon 9930 will be compatible with the BIS services of Reliance. To my shock when i called reliance BB team to activate my BIS services they confirmed that the services are active but my phone will not work as its not compatible.

Now my BIS is activated, i confirmed this by putting my SIM on another blackberry (8830). When i checked HRT there are no entries

Team please help my BB 9930 to work with Reliance GSM. I am noob at this so the steps that you give me need to simple.

Make sure your phone's sim is unlocked. It is supposed to work since it is the 9930 and supports both cdma and gsm. The 9900 wouldn't support cdma..

and with Verizon, you have to make sure it has a clean esn which means the person using it before you has to deactivate it from their Verizon account.

Vodafone owns 45% of Verizon. Make sure it is unlocked.

In india i doubt , the phone is unlocked by entering the unlock key. Airtel, Vodafone works with my 9930 , i still dont understand why it doesnt.

Go to options/device/advanced system settings and select "sim card"

And then type in "mepd" And where it says network, it should say "inactive" meaning the Sim card is unlocked. if it says active, then it's not unlocked. And then if it is unlocked, go to your "mobile network" settings and make sure it's on GSM mode by selecting where it says "network technology" and change it to "GSM/UMTS"

If you need an unlock code, I can get one for free for you.

Did you finally switch over back to Vodafone. I have bought a 9930 Verizon too. Hasn't arrived so far. Fingers crossed that it will also work.
