I was at the Mobilicity event in Surrey, BC today and the marketing rep for Mobilicity was there with a BB 9900 and a BB torch the BB 9900 was running on Mobilicity own AWS network and the BB torch on a big three network they were comparing roaming prices across Canada. She allowed people to use the phones to makes calls anywhere in north America I jumped on the chance to try out the phone and I have to say WOW its amazing very solid feeling and light and boy was it Fast the net was very quick compared to my BB 9000 no hour glass at all and call quality is way better as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask I will try to answer some of them
There were a lot of people who did around 80 people but yes I was very surprised as well. The CEO of Mobilicity has one too he is testing it out so I hope it’s not long before they announce its release on Mobilicity. I am looking every day on CB too see if it’s released yet
The reps said it was amazing phone to use and that battery life has been great as well longer then they thought it would be. They also said the touch screen was more responsive than the BB Torch they were using.
The touchscreen is very responsive for general OS usage. It is inconsistent and slow in the web browser though. It seems like complicated websites cause some issues interpreting touch events. Scrolling with the trackpad is significantly smoother and faster. The other problem I noticed is that it's hard to do iPhone-style multi-touch gestures on a screen this short (at least for my large hands).
