I decided to upgrade tonight and all was going well..DM Backup, Turn off All Radio, BBSAK Wipe, Loader..everything successful. Now the phone reboots and asks me for the PIN code (my SIM has a PIN), that was accepted. Then it asks for the password. I could have sworn I typed it in correctly, but it doesn't accept it. So I type it again, slower than the first time, and it still didn't accept it. Now I really take time to type it in only to find that the password field only accepts 8 characters max, apparently on first boot. My password before the upgrade has 9 characters.

After some thinking, I used BBSAK to do a Factory Reset and the phone booted right up after the SIM PIN. I loaded DM and restored my data. It also asked me for a new password after the restore was completed. I set it using the 9 character password and it accepted it. All is now well with the world again.

Posted in the event anyone else experienced this.
