I have a new 9900 and when i got it, i was able to type in to the main menu and automatically do searches. today when i tried to do search from the main screen i seem to have shortcuts per letter. that or i get routed to searches on the phone book. do i always have to click on the search button on the upper right to get to search right on the screen? howcome i have shortcuts per letter and i never assigned anything? hope someone can help.

You can just start typing on the homescreen, depending on what you are looking for (Universal Search or App Launching)
