Since I loaded my 9930 with os 7.1, it strangely started draining my battery faster and faster. I'm up to on a normal day putting my phone on the charger atl east 3 times a day. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

7.1 offers moble hot spot that will cause your battery to drain fast. I would try shutting it down and see if it helps.

well it seems like people are suggesting the same on the os thread and a lot of people are going back to 7.0. Personally, my 7.0 isn't giving me any problems so I'm sticking with it for now.

I noticed signifigantly worse battery life as well - 7.1 did not last long on my phone.

I've tried every single build out there, including 7.1. Currently I'm on a hybrid, built mostly upon 7.1.0.163 files. Battery life is the best I have seen so far. Still not great, but a good improvement.

Hi, what hybrid are you using?

I'm at about 2% discharge per hour (after the initial drop to 92%).

I have the initial drop as well, but it doesn't happen for an hour or so. Depends on my usage when I disconnect it from the charger.

my battery life has gotten much worse on 7.1 but everything else runs better. have to charge three times a day now. and that initial drop to 92 is ridiculous

Same here, battery life is absolutely atrocious. Possibly the worst of any of the builds out there, and I've tried nearly all of them. But like someone else said, everything else is improved (except maybe reception).

Would you consider this bad or good?

I would consider this good. That means I'd still have 70%+ after a days use...

Meterberry says mine is currently 10.7%/hour but I'm in a poor reception area I guess. I currently have -102d dBm which is about 2-3 bars. I get about 8-10 hours of battery life. I don't know what else I can do except wait for a new Hybrid or Leak/OS to come out.

I am at a discharge rate of under 1.5%/hr with 7.1 including the drop to 92% after the first hour or so of taking it off of the charger. My phone stays connected to wifi all day and I have Twitter and FB updating every hour. General texting/BBM throughout the day, some web browsing and a few calls.

I'm not for sure what is causing some people to have battery issues while others report approximately 2% discharge rates. Whether it is the user, battery or phone, I'm not for sure, but I don't feel this OS has caused any issues at least on my phone.

I don't know. I don't want to take it off because everything else seems to be good! Except battery life. I havent had too many problems software wise.

...the drain is bad.. as bad as it could be... my usage is similar to prior updating to 7.1.. maybe i should reinstall and just restore the contacts and setup everything manually again like when i switched from 6.0 to 7.0..

I agree it really sucks. I bet its a radio thing. People who are on wifi report decent battery life.

I went back to 7.0, 13 hours of my day I'm not connected to wifi.

+1 I have WiFi and GPS on constantly, FB and Twitter updates every 30 minutes, heavy web browsing, text/bbm and my battery life is much better than 374.
