I ran McAfee Mobile Security on my previous Bold 9930 and wasn't overly impressed with the program. I've spent the morning researching mobile security apps available for Blackberry and, well, it seems there isn't much out there. Am I wasting my time? Do you all run anything, and if so, what do you use? Thanks.

Hello, I personally don't run anything on my phones and I have never had one problem and I also use mine for work, I think the best anti virus is using common sense
    andy957 and PhoenixRUS like this.

I have an Android one side-loaded. Sometimes use it to scan my side-loaded apps, sometimes it even stays running in the background (not sure how). Overall the support is not that great, but it was free, and a little extra peace of mind is always nice.

In my opinion, if you have an AV scanner on your desktop, use that to scan your device when connected. Should pretty much be safe enough for the average user.

    BlackBerry 10 signed.

Never used any kind of anti viruses on any of my BlackBerry devices so far and have never run into or picked up anything

I forgot about plugging it in and using the desktop antivirus. I have done that in the past and I've never found any issues. I agree common sense is the best tool, I just want to make sure I am being proactive if I can be rather than being reactive. Thanks for the responses.

But I use apps that don't require any unnecessary permissions like this - MyPasswords

I work as IT security specialist, and you are one of the not so many people i ever saw with common sense i also think the best is not using any antivirus (aka. Money making fake programs) just use your brain and everything is good...
