| | Official vs Leaked OS
This is more of a discusion than anything else, but.
Who will install the official OS release of 7.1 if you already have the leaked one?

i don't see a difference though, if the leaked one is working for me i won't update it to the official one.

I would, it only takes half hour plus I haven't tried .268 as yet, if that is the OS of which you are referring.

If it's OS .267 and the platform and bundle numbers are the same, then no... the leaked and official will be identical.

If the leaked OS 7.1 version is higher than the official, I would just stay with the leaked unless there is a problem with the leaked OS.

I just can't get around to a leak.
I have .267 downloaded and installed on my PC just begging to be inserted into my 9930. Something is holding me back though. It doesn't offer anything I need... Why fix something if it isn't broke? I just can't cut the chain from .163 yet.
Maybe I'll get bored...

Blacked out on my Crackberry using telepathy and Tapatalk | I just installed .267 tonight and my 9930 seems a bit snappier. One very minor new feature I like is that the notification bar and heading bar no longer stay blue when closing using your finger. I know that sounds small, but was a pleasant surprise, as I always tapped the middle of the screen to get rid of the blue...now I don't have to! It also has the battery saver feature (which I have yet to use). There are a lot of people on here reporting great battery life. I havent had installed long enough to report on that yet.

if you really play funny with OS, you might land in trouble while claiming warranty/ Guarantee. Until your carrier makes it official, you are not eligible to use that OS. Hardware/ Software tampering can void your warranty/ guarantee. But I prefer updated one, doesn’t matter if it belongs to other carrier.

Installing an OS is software tampering that voids your warranty? lol Right! Because they can tell what OS's you've had on it Interesting, since I was able to get Verizon to swap out my Tour running a leaked OS for a brand-new Bold 9650.
edit: Anyone is eligible to use any OS that's written for their device; the carrier just won't support any OS's it hasn't released. Then again anyone looking to the carrier for any real support is in for a gigantic disappointment!

267 is MILES ahead of 163! Battery life has been greatly improved, and it's snappier. Not to mention the other little niceties (server options, etc.). Go for it!

Edit**** Flawless install. Just going through all my apps and restoring what is necessary. Wish it was just a little easier. Seems pretty snappy so far. Still have to go through new additions in the OS.
