How is it in compared to the latest official AT&T 7.0 version?

Anyway maybe AT&T will release its official 7.1 WITH the 2G selection available? Who knows? Or you guys have sure info that AT&T would remoive it for ever?

7.1.0.74 isn't bad and the battery life is better then the At&T 7.0 version. I would give it a try you get mobile hotspot as well if you use it. Every once in awhile I have to restart my 99000 but nothing out of the usual.

Yeah I'm hoping when AT&T officially releases 7.1 that we get the 2G selection mode if not that will most likely be the writing on the wall that the feature is gone.

Only have this OS installed for one day thus far. Battery seems about the same since my previous OS 7.0.0.590.

Only thing noticeable for me is the nice change to the alarm clock being more visible in the clock view.

Not sure what happened, but two days ago it started draining the battery really bad. I go from 100% to 30% or so now from 6AM to 3PM without much use at all. I might look to another OS now.

This happened to me couple of times with 318 and 342. My "solution" for something like this is to restart the device.

So how is this ROM in compared with the 342 official? I used this 318 for several days without a problem - switched from the Leaked 342 version which had NO problem at all.

I used the 342 official Greek version for several days also w/o a problem but it had no Vietnamese input so I installed another official 342 All-lang from SingTel but it seemed to be a little bit buggy sometimes.

In conclusion I think that the leaked 342 version and 318 (and 342 Multilang) are the most stable for now. Nevertheless I use 342 coz of it's newer.

    What do you think?

I dont find any differences between 342 (used leaked and official) and 318, except that for me 318 has better battery life. Was thinking to use 318 radio with 342, but not having time for flashing the device. Couple of friends did the "mix" and works quite well for them - improves slightly battery life for them.

If you are happy with 342, dont bother changing. The radio part, most critical for battery life, "fits" well with some networks and not that nice with others - factors as design of the networks and variety of settings plays a role, and for me having improved battery life with this ROM (radio) do not means it will be the same with you, being on different network.

Downgraded from 342 to this Docomo Japan version 318. No regrets. Haven't found any bugs yet so far, battery life slightly better than 342, less signal fluctuations as compared to 342 (not all of you will experience this because your network could be strong).

From where i come from (and many others here as well - non US based), 3G signals are weak / blind spots plenty and thus setting 2g/3g for network drains the battery due to the signal fluctuation from GSM -> GPRS -> EDGE -> 3G back / forth. So this version compared to 342 gives me lesser network fluctuations.

Pls update us with the experience after some days of usage plz.
I live in Vietnam and thinking of downgrading to this build as well ^^

Gonna try this tomorrow or at least do a radio swap. Have issues browsing or even using my apps that require an Internet connection on .342. This only happened on .342. Other older 7.1 releases I used didn't do this.

I'm guessing it's just the radio file. Is there a quickway of just adding this radio file my phone? I have used different radio files on my 9700 by just dumping the preferred radio file into the specified folder. Then I usually do a wipe and run app loader. If I do it that way without a wipe would it just change the radio file to this one?

Check the thread on .342. Using the .318 radio with .342 has been discussed at length and several people have tried it. I was going to try it myself, but the results were not conclusive. I ended up staying with .342 because I'm not having any problems with it.

Cool thanks. I'll try it that way first. If its something else than I'll just install this all onto my phone as I'm not quite satisfied with .342 overall compared to other older versions I've used.

    Thumbs down random restart

having random restart issue on this device. I noticed that it happens when device tries to switch between 3G and 2G.

if i keep setting on 2g it works without restarting.

Day-2 with 318/342 combo build. After 15 Hrs of use, drain rate is 1.36% per hr.

If it stays this way, it would be very promising ...

Wow, what a difference the hybrid makes. Before where I am the phone was only on Edge now it has full 3G. Thank you all for the discussion I almost did not try this but now I am so happy I did.

I will keep observing as before on the straight 342 I kept having random reboots - not many but enough to be annoying, I hope that will not happened with this combo installed. Again thanks to the wise heads here that helped me to do this.
