Good evening simon, can I suggest you have a look in the forums,
A lot of the OS posts have instructions in the 1st couple of posts that will help you out. - 08-18-2012, 01:46 PM #452
Thanks
So having looked around I found this guide...
How to Install or Upgrade to a New RIM BlackBerry Operating System (OS) | CrackBerry.com
Unfortunately I cannot seem to get this method to work. I install the handset software (that goes fine) and delete the vendor file in the common apps folder. When I then select 'update software' in the desktop manager, it tells me there are no new software versions for my device. Just to clarify, my device options tells me I am running v7.1.0.342 so it definitely isn't up to date with the version from this thread.
Using the 'loader' in he common apps folder, allows me to install some apps but doesnt see the new software itself! Does the software definitely extract to this location? - 08-18-2012, 01:54 PM #453
Ok, I understand.
It sounds like you have the 2nd vendor.xml file.
There is a small program avalable that will search and remove both the files or just do a search for vendor.xml again on the forum. I can remember where the 2nd one is off the top of my head. - 08-18-2012, 02:09 PM #455
Good to hear, no problems. That's the good thing about the forums.

I have AT&T, installed this, and now my phone, doesn't work very well as a phone. I can hear them, but no one can hear me. HELP! I love the battery life, all the other improvements, but i can't have a phone conversation! Any advice?

If AT&T is giving you issues and updating renders your blackberry a voiceless data only device, best to move over to t-mobile. Just thought I'd let you know. Maybe AT&T users should lodge complaints to get them to fix that issue on their network. So far, AT&T is the only one doing this, or having this issue.

First let me say I'm sorry if these issues have been addressed here. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for.
Issue #1: From time to time when I hit the end call button it looks like the call is ended but I still here the person I was speaking with.
Issue #2: The handover from WiFi to 4G or vice versa does not always work.
The only way for me to fix these problems is to pull the battery.
