Why wait for your carrier to release 7.1 ?
Just use any of the 7.1 versions that are availabe from other carriers.
I an on Vodafone UK and the only time I have ever used their "official" OS was the day I opened the box !!!
The latest .523 is a good OS and there is no reason why it will not work with your network.Last edited by Legal Eagle; 06-25-2012 at 10:36 AM.

Probably model specific. Voda is not the first carrier to ignore Official updates and be way behind* on OS testing.
Yeah, probably BS, but who cares? Install any official OS from any other carrier.

Thanks for the input guys...
They've subsequently come back to me saying that they will forward my concerns to their procurement team.
I'll wait a day or 2 for a response and give u guys feedback. - 06-26-2012, 05:18 AM #7

Re: Not a happy camper
*UPDATE*
Checked for updates on my device. Got Version 7.1.0 Bundle 2061
So they finally got on board
one thing though... not sure if this is the case across the board, maybe you guys can help.
I dont seem to have the option to set my mobile network to 2G only. There are only options for "3G" and "3G and 2G"
A bit of a bummer as I used to use 2G only and then connect to the WiFi at work and at home... It helped alot with battery life...
That being said... battery life seems a bit better in general. I've got battery saving mode always running...
Any comments ?

Re: Not a happy camper
You choice for 2g was removed with the new OS. Not much you can do about it.
