I get 1-1.5 day on my battery with average-heavy use.
As to the red light problem, I have no clue what you're talking about.XoXoXo

thats not a common problem these days only a few people get it by bricking their phones or letting the battery drain fully, ive never had my 9900 shut down or break on me. dunno what battery problem you mean? mine lasts 2 days

We have a pair of 9900s in the family. Both are remarkable devices with no issues. We run the latest software and do not allow our batteries to drain. severely.

I've owned my 9900 since august of last year, drain the battery to the point of the device shutting down on its own nearly every day(still need to buy a spare battery), and have yet to have my device just up and brick on me. While I know it was an issue with early builds of the device(just read the forums, there are a ton of posts about it when the device first came out, not so much now), not sure if the OS upgrades or some hardware change(mine is ATT branded)has fixed the issue. You just don't see posts about it happening at all anymore. I would say go ahead and buy the device, you'll love it.

Newbie question
I have had no red light issues with either of my two 9900s. The only issue I have had was with bad pixels, but Telus/RIM repaired that so all is fine once more.
I would definitely get the Bold 9900. Best qwerty phone keyboard I have ever used. Love the feel of this phone.
