When changing out the OS should you wipe the phone clear first. then install the new one
I keep having this problem with thew phone in gauging the speaker sometimes when I answer the phone it comes on and other times when I'm on a call it comes I'm thinking OS. 9930 on sprint

then is it OK to run a back up will that put the old stuff back on there if there was a hang up of sorts with the OS
or reinstall app one at a time

I never back up apps, always do a fresh install from App World after every load.

me too, I always wipe everything, even when restoring the backup, I dont restore everything, i exclude many things like app permissions which could relate to old non existent apps that you had installed before, I dont restore content store, and stuff like that, just emails, contacts, and BBM contacts, notes, and bookmarks,, rest is unselected

As per the backup and restoring, I do that via DM and get my apps and all that jazz back one-by-one

I never restore the bloat. Clean reloading is what I prefer, it actually speeds things up after 5 months of trash collecting.
