new bbm7 for os5 users

Hi my friend as asked me when will bbm7 be ready for her device she has bb device 8520 av sugested to her do a battery pull then check appworld but its still not there says its uptodate so I've told her to be patient is there any kind of link for it? If not she will have to wait lol

It is available officially for every device running OS4.5 or higher. Have her login to app world and from her "My World" have her hold the ALT key while also pressing R S T. This will reset app world(close down), and when logging back in it will refresh her app world. If that doesn't work, try opening the browser and typing in blackberry.com/messenger this will take you directly to the download of BBM7.

Where is she located? At the bottom of the page it states that India, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, or Morocco have to upgrade to 6.2 only.

Just tried the link on my wifes old pearl(OS4.5), and it gives me 6.2. Perhaps this is BBM7 for OS4 and 5 devices? will download it and let you know.

the pearl she has is OS5, 5.0.0.974(pearl 3G 9100)

Nope on OS5 I have no voice chat options. I'm going to try downloading and loading from my PC, since it still tells me its available for her device. Will let you know how it goes.

No go. Seems its only giving me the 6.2.0.44 option. No idea on this one, although at the bottom of the BBM page it does say voice chat option only available for OS6 and higher. One would think it would still install BBM7, just not have the voice option?

There is an official statement from RIM saying BBM7 for OS5 will be there "early this year".
News about BBM 7 for OS 5 avialable for download on AppWorld were false.

No idea why it would say on app world via PC that my device is supported for BBM7 then.

That's because on the PC always the newest version of an app is shown

BBM is in fact available for OS5, but not BBM 7.

Adam updated his post. I guess the news came from someone who checkes AppWorld via PC and made the same mistake as above. RIM never said the update would come for OS5.
As Adam writes nothing about OS 4.5 in his update, I'm fine with it
