For the new 9930 owners, I was wondering if the new Bold 9930 is capable of viewing online streaming content like Netflix, VUDU, or Slingbox? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.
Netflix --> not anytime soon. probably won't see that until QNX, and even then it'd have to be an app since Netflix uses Silverlight which the PlayBook doesn't support yet.
VUDU --> not too familiar with it, but I'd say no for the BB7 platform since it uses flash.
Slingbox --> yes.
I sent Dishnetwork a request for a playbook app and they basically said that nothing was in the works. I too am very hopeful that my slingbox will somehow or someday work with the 9930.
Its more than just hardware. Data goes through RIM servers, so there are licensing issues. That's why some video sites, like ABC, don't work via Bridge Browser on PlayBook.
