    My BB9900 seems to be misbehaving. This has been going on for some time now. I have had just about all versions of 7.1 as well as hybrids (which by the way are awsome).
    Now here is the problem: Sometimes when I pull out my BB9900 out of my pocket (and I know I am in a TMO 4g area), I get either an edge signal or the SOS signal. Resetting the radio under
    the "manage connections" section does not work. In order to get a solid 3/4g (and this is in a full 5bar area), I have to pull the battery and voila I get my 5bar 4g signal
    Opinions anyone? Is it the phone? I have done a wipe/hybrid install of the OS and this did not help this particular situation.. I always shrunk my OS either before or after installing to phone.

    How old is you SIM? I had a similar problem and had Rogers replace my years old SIM and i don't seem to have the problem anymore. The technology of the SIMs has changed over the years. In my case they gave me an LTE SiM, which is the latest generation of SIM.

    The new SIM also came up in a wifi calling thread so if you are using wifi calling it may help there too.
