My Blackberry 9900 is totally screwing up, help would be nice :)
Okay, so I'm probably not doin this whole forum thing right, I just created this account. In fact, I created it because of my numerous problems with my (crappy) blackberry 9900. Here are all the problems, if you could answer them it would be very appreciated.
1.) I can lock the screen, and then when I press the unlock button, it will not unlock. I have to pull the battery out or call my phone from another phone to get it to unlock.
2.) It will randomly shut off, and I have to pull the battery out just to get it to turn on.
3.) The screen will go black, as if locking, while I'm in the middle of typing a text, and then turn back on, and then go black again.
4.) I've only noticed it when flipping through pictures, but the screen will go white, with colored, pixilated lines running horizontally.
5.) My alt key only works if I press for example alt (let off) w. (just a random letter) or if I press alt+shift w.
6.) My trackpad won't usually work.
That's pretty much all the problems. I'm sure I'll be better off to get a new phone, but I hate to fork out all that money if I can help it. - 06-04-2012, 07:11 PM #2
Hi and wow. Get it replaced by your carrier. Sounds like it got wet, if so don't expect a replacement.

Ok, I'll bite and I gotta ask........what's the possibility of your Berry being near a source of liquid of some kind lately? Did all these issues start happening at once? It sounds like most likely a hardware issue, I'd suggest taking it to a retailer for repair or warrenty work. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Sorry about your troubles, but for all those issues to crop up at once....liquid or serious fall damage, or total hardware failure.
Hope your device is still under warranty. You haven't said how long you have had it, but just return it where you bought it.Cuius testiculos habes, habeas cardia et cerebellum...

I have a 9900 and it's the best phone I've had yet. None of the problems you're describing. It sounds like to me you need to reload the OS. BlackBerry Desktop is the best way to do that. There are forums that cover how to do that, if you need instructions.
I believe in the BB Desktop you can just click "update" then "show other versions" then "reload"
Sorry you're having trouble. - 06-04-2012, 07:29 PM #7
I'd take it back where I got it from pronto.
Get them to replace it as it shouldn't have come with the features you described. - 06-04-2012, 07:40 PM

I just got the phone, I haven't gotten it wet, I have dropped it, but no more than any other phone or my previous blackberry curve. First it was the shutting off, then it was the screen going white, and then also which I didn't add, the blinking red light for no reason, the trackpad has been temperamental, but today it has been awful, as the other stuff. /:

You should really take the phone back and get it returned, however I don't recommend telling the store it might be water damaged as they most likely wont take it back

Sounds like when you dropped it maybe you knocked something loose. Never had any of those issues with my 9930, but then again, I've never dropped it...

You should return it. Hopefully there's no damage from dropping the phone. Good luck.

I have the EXACT same problem with my BB Bold 9900! I have every issue you listed....just since yesterday afternoon. What the heck?
FYI....to avoid pulling your battery to unlock, you can hold the "OFF" button for about 5 seconds and it'll offer you the option of shutting it off or not...at that point it's unlocked.
What are you going to do about it? - 06-07-2012, 07:29 AM #14
wow sounds like you got a dud. id return to the carrier and insist they issue you a new device. good luck!

Its suffering from "shaken blackberry" syndrome. Take it back. Maybe think about a case.
